Also, if gen z (I don't know even of you all personally, I'm an 80s baby), the early internet was (for me, as a teenager) all about Live Journal and Open Diary and then Blogger. Seeing some of my faves return to long form reminds me of the internet of yester-year! It's nostalgic! Also, I feel like long form in general is nostalgic now. Much more intenti9nal, like you said.

Also, if you don't do ~°~tHiS~°~ on your AIM or MSN messenger name/away message or myspace profile, nobody can tell you're cool.
